Our weekly Repair Surgery is back!!

The first Repair Surgery of 2016 is finally here and we’re ready to help you repair and mend your personal electronics, clothes and bags (amongst other things!).

Our doors open at 6pm and we’ll have experts on hand to help you until 8:30pm. We work on a first-come first-serve basis so it’s best to arrive earlier, especially if you need help with laptops/phones etc.

So come along to no. 17 Guthrie Street, located between the Cowgate and Chambers St.

For more info on what the Repair Surgery is, how it works and what we can help with, check out our Repair Surgery page.

Important info on volunteer evening

Thanks to the overwhelming response to our plea for volunteers, tomorrow evening’s volunteer recruitment evening (14th Jan, 6pm-8pm) will now be held at the South Bridge Resource and Education Centre on Infirmary Street.

Infirmary street We’ll have loads of information to give, as well as tea and biscuits to hand round, so make sure to come along and see how you can get involved. If you can’t come along but still want more info, drop an e-mail to:

See you then!

Remakery Donations

If you’re not able to volunteer, maybe you can help us by having a clear out at home and giving us your unwanted stuff? For the Edinburgh Remakery we will be on the hunt for some goodies to make our staff room a nice place for people to take a break. We’re after:

  • White paint
  • Table and chairs (don’t have to be matching)
  • A small fridge with space for milk and sandwiches
  • Lockers to keep bags safe
  • Plates/bowls/glasses/mugs/cutlery etc.
  • Picture frames/blackboards
  • LED light strips

If you don’t have any of these things at home, but love websites like Freegle, maybe you could keep an eye open for us? We’ll be looking for stuff for the start of January so we can ensure all our volunteers and tradespeople can get a cuppa!

If you’ve got any of the above, please e-mail Chris to let him know!
